Léah McVeagh
Co-Founder

Léah is an accomplished writer, director and producer of short films, web series, feature films, music videos & commercials. With a diverse portfolio, such as working on New Zealand's first 3D animated feature film, Mosley, or alongside international brands, such as Samsung, Coverfly, Cheil and Xero, she's known in the industry for her creative solutions, collaborative nature, insight and a strong work ethic. 

In 2022, Dame Gaylene Preston gave Léah the Best Female Director Award for Angle3's 48 Hour Grand Finalist dramedy, Parked.  Other films she's worked on have been officially selected in local festivals (Show Me Shorts & Arohanui) and placed highly in the 48 Hour and My Rode Reel Competitions. 

Born in South Africa and raised in New Zealand, Léah's upbringing inspires her to make films that break down cultural barriers and build bridges of understanding between people of different beliefs, backgrounds and ways of living..

Daryl J Wong
Co-Founder

Daryl is currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, New Zealand, working as a Director of Photography. Between 2012 to 2014, he worked in Hong Kong at Asia Pacific Vision (APV) as an Associate Producer and Camera Operator, servicing clients such as HSBC, Disney HK, Starbucks, and Cathay Pacific. Since returning to Aotearoa New Zealand, Daryl has freelanced for various national production companies and funding bodies, such as the New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC), Television New Zealand (TVNZ), and New Zealand On Air (NZOA).

Daryl has won ‘Best Cinematography’ at the 48Hours Film Competition 2021 for both the Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Regional Finals & Grand National Finals, ‘Best Cinematography’ at the Hollywood International Diversity Film Festival 2022, and a Gold Award for Web Series at the New Zealand Cinematographer's Society.

Ryan Wong
Co-Founder

Ryan has several years’ experience working as a freelance graphics designer. He’s worked creating marketing materials for clients like KFC, NZPost, Pan-Asian Screen Collective and Research Review.

Like many members in Angle3, he has multiple responsibilities such as the assistant camera, creating posters, title logos, credit crawls and managing the social media posts.

He’s passionate about working in Angle3 to create designs that contribute to communicate the stories across, but providing it in a different mediums from the film’s themselves.
